Chinese New Year Party Favors

It’s Chinese New Years Eve and families are having culturally infused dinners, while other are having parties inspired by the Lunar New Year.  Traditionally red envelopes are given out with money and coins, however modern trends of party favors and gifts can be anything with an Asian flair.

We like the idea of Frosted Take Out Boxes filled with fortune cookies or traditional cakes, so guests can have something sweet to take home.  Embellished with gold ribbon makes thing quite festive.  Personalized labels and stickers with the double happiness  symbol make quite an impression.

The traditional colors are red and gold for good luck.  You will see red paper lanterns and fire crackers hanging for good luck.  Other decorative elements for good luck are oranges.  Traditionally oranges are both eaten and decorated with for the Chinese New Year.

50 Shades of Gray Bridal Shower

With the release of the hit novel 50 Shades of Grey in movie theaters on Valentine’s Day, it is creating quite a stir. This sensual and erotic movie is also inspirational for bridal showers and bachelorette parties.  This year the 50 Shades of Gray theme is going to be quite popular among the ladies do to it’s flirty nature.

Shades of Grey deffinitly comes into play for the party decorations, but think a little more about the elements of the film or book and pull them into your party. It would be great to give the bride a 50 Shades of Grey kit filled with goodies that she and her future husband will be able to use in the bedroom. For all the guests, you could send them home with blindfolds and hand cuffs, but why not the book itself as bridal shower favors. It will be great for those who have not read it and an addition to the library for those who have.

Here are some ideas for elegance in 50 Shades of Gray.
