Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon Renew Their Vows

Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon renewed their wedding vows at the Eiffel Tower in Paris, France yesterday, April 27th.  After a romantic dinner at Jules Verne restaurant, the couple celebrated their 4 year wedding anniversary with an intimate ceremony just after midnight local time.  Carrey wore a sexy white gown with a black sash in a bow while her husband coordinated with her in a white suit and a black tie.  They were an enchanting bride and groom as if they had just married for the first time in a Parisian wedding ceremony.  We all remember that the couple first married in the Bahamas in 2008 after a whirlwind romance of a few months.

Going Vintage with Lace

Since Kate Middleton’s royal wedding dress featured handmade lace appliqué, lace has made quite a comeback.  Although everyone can not have handmade lace incorporated into their wedding dress, vintage lace can be included in the wedding ensemble as well as the wedding adornments.  Vintage lace embelishemnts can be incorporated into everything from the wedding invitations to the wedding favors.  At first thought the idea of lace is quaint, but in actuality vintage lace can be quite sexy and breathe taking.  Here are our inspirations for vintage lace themed wedding.

Cupcake Ideas for Wedding Favors and Desert

Summer time is the high season for weddings.  With the weather warming up couples take advantage of the opportunity for outdoor weddings and they like to make things more fun and colorful.  Couples will go for more light hearted design and wedding panning. With that tone in mind we have some delightful ideas using cupcakes.  Cupcakes are becoming more and more popular for weddings.  Individual cupcakes as wedding favors are deliciously adorable and displaying them in a unique way is the key to making this fun desert graceful and stylish for weddings.  Here are a few cupcake inspirations for weddings.

Think about displaying cupcakes in individual domes that guests can take home as wedding favors.  Individual cupcake stands are also pretty at each place setting.  Those little cupcake stands are also great for gourmet truffles as well.  It’s a neat presentation for gourmet chocolates as wedding favors.  Using cupcakes in an elaborate display at the desert table has become increasingly popular for modern weddings.  The appropriately coordinated display tiers and stands for cupcakes is what will make the desert or wedding favor unique.

Oscar de la Renta popped with soft blues and flower prints for wedding gowns.  Absolutely breath taking!

Earth Day 2012 Wedding Ideas

It’s Earth Day and we have a bunch of wedding ideas that are fit for the occasion.  Earth Day is celebrated to increase awareness of the Earth’s natural environment.  To show appreciation of Mother Nature we encourage environmentally conscious wedding ideas.  For example, use fruit for place card holders.  It’s a sweet treat and biodegradable, not to mention a unique way to guide your guests to their seats.  Fruits also go well with the cocktail hour at the wedding reception.

Use recyclable paper for wedding invitations or send out e-card invitations via the internet.

Try to use flowers that are seasonal and organically grown.  Potted plants for centerpieces also last longer and give a rustic design to the wedding reception tables.

Go organic with the wedding food menu and wedding cake, or even try to include fair trade and vegan ingredients.

Replace traditional wedding favors with earth friendly and green wedding favors.  A burlap pouch of wild flower seeds is a beautiful gesture to thank your guests and they will remember your wedding for years to come as they watch the flowers grow.  Other unique wedding favors that are also environmentally conscious are hand in hand bamboo server sets or bamboo coaster wedding favors.  Edible wedding favors are also a good idea packaged in organic woven favor boxes or recycled paper favor boxes embellished with raffia.

With eco-friendly wedding favors and wedding ideas a beautiful wedding can be planned responsibly.  It is a trend to plan environmentally conscious wedding celebrations; however we hope that it will become more common.

Destination Wedding Favors

Summer is approaching and things are warming up.  This is when people start planning destination weddings.  It becomes a vacation and wedding celebration in one.  Most people thing a destination wedding is beach location like Hawaii.  However, destination weddings are expanding to locations like Las Vegas and Napa Valley.  Destination wedding locations are selected by couples based on what they like to do, such as hobbies.  Often couples want to go back to the place where they first met.

Regardless of where your wedding is taking place, with a destination wedding welcome gifts and wedding favors are a must.  It is important to acknowledge the guests and the effort they made to attend the wedding at this special destination.  It is nice to create a welcome basket with items that guests will be able to use while they are at your destination wedding celebration.  Incorporate destination wedding favors that are practical and meaningful.

Here are some ideas for destination wedding favors and gift items:

Items like sunscreen and lip balm are always useful when traveling and personalized sunscreen bottles are perfect for a fun in the sun wedding location.

Personalized Drink Mix like a Cosmopolitan Drink Mix or a Personalized Margarita Drink Mix would be great to include in that welcome basket along with the sunscreen and beach towels.  These drink mixes will allow your guests to continue the party poolside after the wedding is over.

Personalized Coffee Favors will also be a great pick me up for guests in the morning and also great to throw in a welcome basket.

Luggage tags are also nice for destination wedding favors that can double as place card holders.

If planning a get away to Paris, Eiffel Tower Sine Stopper favors would be ideal.

Playing cards in personalized travel tins are an ingenious idea for a casino style wedding or a destination wedding in Las Vegas.

Think of local delicacies such as personalized wine bottles and bottle stoppers for a Napa wedding.

Gourmet Olive Oil Bottles for a destination wedding in Italy.

Chalk is the New Wedding Trend

Chalk is the new trend at weddings.  Ever since Oprah featured Dana Tanamachi’s custom chalk design on the cover of O, The Oprah Magazine, chalk designs have been booming.  It is a unique new way to express creative style in wedding décor.

Chalk board is being used to list food and beverage selections or the wedding menu.  It is great for directing guests to the ceremony and reception site.

Chalkboards in decorative frames would work great for reception table numbers.  There are even unique ways to use chalk as wedding favors.  We love these votive wedding favors wrapped in chalkboard for guest to write on or write your guests names on them as place settings.

Chalkboard Platters for the wedding menu.  You can make it a DIY project for your wedding.  Chalkboard paint goes a long way.  You can paint just about anything, such as terracotta flower pots that can be wedding favors.  Then write on it with chalk and make it fun!   Use a giant chalkboard for an elaborate design that can introduce the bride and groom.  The chalkboard wedding decoration will be a big trend for summer weddings as it is great for outdoor decorations. It is also very nice for casual backyard weddings or a wedding that has a more natural style.  It will deffinitely be incorporated into those black and white themed weddings that come up this summer.

Ricki Lake Wedding: An Elopement with Christian Evans

Talk Show Host, Ricki Lake, eloped with Christian Evans on April 8th.  The two tied the knott in a secret ceremony in Southern California.  Ricki Lake had Dancing with the Stars costume designer Daniela Gschwendtner create a dream wedding gown for her secret wedding on the sly.  The gown is very soft and romantic with one side of the dress being slightly peach and the other more cream.  It all comes together at the waist with a darker peach accent.

This design is exemplary of a beautiful summer gown for the simple wedding.
