Top Celebrity Weddings of 2011

The Royal Wedding was of course considered the wedding of the century.  Prince William wed Kate in Westminster Abbey on April 29, 2011.  Kate wore a fabulous Alexander McQueen Dress and the bride’s maid surprised us with a lovely white gown.  The details were magnificent and tasteful.  The entire day was full of carriage rides and balcony kisses.  Everything a fairytale princess could dream of for her wedding.

The Rock and Roll wedding of 2011 was also the longest as it was a three day festival inspired celebration.  Kate Moss and Jamie Hince wed in Southrop, England.  Kate wore a sequin covered dress custom designed by John Galliano and the couple sped away in Rolls-Royce blasting rock tunes.

The Kardashian wedding was the most extravagant wedding of 2011 as well as the shortest.  Kim filed for divorce only 72 days after her fairytale wedding.  Kim Kardashian married Kris Humphries in front of 450 guests, among which were celebrities such as Ryan Seacrest and Eva Longoria.  Kim had 3 wardrobe changes for her black and white themed wedding and the bride’s maids wore white Vera Wang gowns.  It has been said that this was America’s royal wedding as the wedding cake and white bride’s maid gowns definitely resembled that of the Royal Wedding.

Reese Witherspoon and Jim Toth had the most down to earth wedding of 2011.  They had pre-ceremony cocktails at Reese’s ranch in Ojai, California and after the ceremony they had a night of dancing and s’mores.  The bride wore a blush-color satin and Chantilly lace Monique Lhuillier gown for the ceremony and changed into a short white Lhuillier frock for the rest of the night.

The most beautifully orchestrated intimate wedding of the year was that of Vanessa Minnello and Nick Lachey.  They kept their wedding very small and very secretive.  The couple was married in front of 35 friends to whom they only sent plane tickets in lieu of invitations.  They had an intimate wedding in the British Virgin Islands.

The wedding with multiple ceremonies goes to Michael Buble and Luisana Lopilato.  They had three, not just ceremonies, but actual weddings.  The first was a civil ceremony in Buenos Aires.  The second was a 300 guest celebration at a private mansion.  The third wedding was in Vancouver and reception in Buble’s family home resembled that of old Hollywood style.

Amy Smart and Carter Oosterhouse had a green wedding.  The couple had 220 guests and only one bag of trash at the end of the night.  They recycled and composted everything!

LeAnn Rimes and Eddie Cibrian’s wedding was the surprise wedding of the year.  The invitation was for the couple’s engagement celebration.  However, the couple skipped a step and tied the knot in Malibu, CA.

Daniel Craig pulled off the top secret wedding of the year with actress Rachel Weisz.  The couple invited only four guests, their two children and two friends who served as witnesses.

The quickest wedding of 2011 was that of Tara Reid and Zack Kehayov.  After being engaged for less than one day, Tara had her dream wedding in Greece.  It was a beachside ceremony on the island of Santorini.  The wedding turned out not to be legally binding in the United States.

The elopement of the year was that of Kellie Pickler and Kyle Jacobs.  While planning their wedding the couple eloped to the Caribbean.  Kellie wore her already custom made Badgley Miskchka gown while Kyle wore khakis and a white button down shirt.

Infused Sugar Wedding Favors

Infused sugar adds a subtle perfume and flavor to coffee, fruit desserts, and baked goods. It is a sweet wedding favor idea for the holidays and compliments other warm gifts such as personalized coffee, tea, or hot chocolate.  Layer granulated sugar with aromatic edibles like scented geranium leaves, rose petals, orange and lemon peel (first set out for a day to dry), or vanilla beans. Choose your favorite flavor or one that fits with your wedding theme.  Vanilla Beans or Cinnamon Sticks may be perfect for the holidays.  Mix small batches, and let them sit for a few days in tightly sealed jars while the scents infuse the sugar.  Make as many batches as you need so that you have enough to offer all your wedding guests in miniature jars.
